We welcome referrals from professionals who believe a person may benefit from our practical, person-centred support.

BEFORE YOU REFER

Good information helps us respond safely.

Please talk with the person about the referral and obtain their informed consent before sharing personal information. Explain what support you are seeking and what information will be shared.

Confirm the person’s consent and preferred way to be contacted.
Describe needs, strengths, goals and any reasonable adjustments.
Include relevant risks, safeguarding concerns and current safety plans.
Share only information necessary for considering the referral.

Important: Right Step UK is not an emergency or crisis service. For immediate danger call 999. For urgent mental health needs contact NHS 111 or the relevant crisis team. Do not use this form for urgent concerns.

We review referrals and may contact the referrer for clarification. A referral does not guarantee acceptance; if our service is not appropriate, we will aim to advise on a more suitable next step.

We contact the referrer to clarify information and agree a safe way forward, including next steps with the person.
